Upscale Chinese restaurant at reputable 5-star luxury hotel in Singapore is looking for a skilled and experienced Dim Sum Chef to join their team! A successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of traditional Dim Sum techniques and ingredients, extensive experience in preparing a variety of Dim Sum dishes, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the kitchen team to plan and develop innovative Dim Sum dishes for the restaurant’s menu
- Prepare and cook Dim Sum dishes in a timely manner while adhering to the restaurant’s recipes and standards
- Ensure that all dishes are presented according to the restaurant’s standards, including taste, appearance, and portion size
- Uphold the highest standards of food handling and sanitation practices throughout food preparation and cooking processes
- Oversee kitchen operations related to Dim Sum dishes and ensure kitchen safety, cleanliness, and maintenance
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to maintain the highest standards of cooking, preparation techniques, and sanitation practices
- Proactively monitor inventory and order supplies, ingredients, and equipment as needed
- Work with the restaurant’s management staff to develop and implement best practice standards for Dim Sum preparation, including maintaining appropriate quality control and consistency in food preparation
Requirements and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Dim Sum Chef
- Proficient in traditional Dim Sum preparation techniques, including knowledge of various Dim Sum ingredients
- Excellent cooking skills, including knowledge of different cooking methods
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays
